Fringe

She’s on the fringe now
As that’s all who will have her
After UFOs probed
And sirens chased her across globes
Staring deep, luminous brown

The Universe crafted a collage of her mind
And filmed a montage of her brain
Said “Fromage!” and then Snap!
Went the synapses
Frequent momentary lapses of reason
Became her norm

Blame the sick pollution
Of abuse without restitution
Of a child said so resilient
Of young promise
Burdened by brilliance
